Certificate in Make-up - City & Guilds Level 2

This course is intended for both professionals from the beauty & entertainment sectors who wish to perfect their make-up techniques, as well as beginners who wish to master the principles of make-up. Understand the importance of colorimetry, color coordination, morphology & how corrective make-up and the art of lighting form the foundation of your career as a make-up artist. A minimum of 18 credits is required to achieve this qualification. All mandatory units must be achieved which total 18 credits.

Unit 201  Working in beauty related industries
Unit 202   Follow health and safety in the salon
Unit 203   Client care and communication in beauty related industries
Unit 209   Apply make-up
Unit 210   Provide eyelash and brow treatments

Learning outcomes:

There are ten learning outcomes to this course. The learner will:
1. Know the key characteristics of the beauty related industries
2. Know the working practices associated with the beauty related industries
3. Be able to maintain health, safety and security practices
4. Be able to follow emergency procedures
5. Be able to communicate with clients
6. Be able to provide client care
7. Be able to prepare for make-up
8. Be able to apply make-up
9. Be able to prepare for eyelash and eyebrow treatments
10.Be able to provide eyelash and eyebrow treatments

Guided learning hours: 150 guided learning hours - 8hrs per session (113GLH 37SLH)

Assessment: This course will be assessed by:
Practical tasks, and knowledge and understanding task(s) in an assignment.

Entry Requirements: Beginners who wish to master the principles of make-up.

Products, tools and equipment: cleansers, toners, moisturisers, concealers, foundations, powders, highlighters/shaders, eye shadows, blushers, eye pencils, lip pencils, lipsticks, lip gloss. sponges, palette, spatula, headband, gown, brushes.

Course Fee: LKR 55,000/- (C&G exam fee included)

Additional Cost: Makeup Kit & A portfolio of photographs Certification: On successful completion you will get a certificate of completion by Pro Makeup Academy.
